Giacometti’s Woman on a Cart stands downtown, while the Storå runs past sculptures in the open air.
Sculpture in the centre
Holstebro is known for public art, especially Woman on a Cart by Alberto Giacometti, installed near the town’s pedestrian centre. Follow the sculpture route to find works by other artists embedded in squares and streets. The Holstebro Art Museum and Holstebro Museum offer deeper context for regional art and history.
Along the Storå
The Storå River runs through town and links parks with paths into the surrounding landscape. The contrast between public sculpture, river greenery and the compact shopping streets makes the centre easy to explore on foot; keep an eye out for art integrated into everyday spaces.
