Villa Reale fronts formal gardens, beyond which Parco di Monza stretches around its motor-racing circuit.
Royal architecture and cathedral art
The Villa Reale, designed by Giuseppe Piermarini for the Habsburgs, anchors the royal park with neoclassical halls and formal gardens. In the old centre, Monza Cathedral holds the Chapel of Theodelinda and the Iron Crown, traditionally associated with the coronation of kings of Italy.
Park and racing circuit
The Parco di Monza surrounds the villa with lawns, woodland and historic park structures. Within its grounds, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza has hosted major motor races since 1922, placing racing heritage alongside the royal landscape.
