Utrecht Leidsche Rijn → Zoetermeer

Old village street

The Dorpsstraat preserves the historic village line of Zoetermeer and Zegwaart. The Oude Kerk stands here on a site whose current church dates from 1785–1787; look for older brick façades along the street.

A newer landscape

From the northern hill in Buytenpark, a panorama takes in the polders and the wider Randstad. The contrast between this open lowland and the town’s newer architecture tells the story of a settlement that grew into a planned city.
