Climb through Oberstadt to the onion-domed Martinsturm, then look out across Lake Constance.
The Upper Town
Oberstadt preserves medieval walls, cobbled lanes, and the baroque-domed Martinsturm. Built up in 1599–1601 as a watchtower, it now houses local-history displays and overlooks Lake Constance.
Art by the water
Downhill, Kunsthaus Bregenz presents contemporary art in a translucent glass building designed by Peter Zumthor. The contrast between the old hilltop quarter and the modern museum captures the town’s lake-and-mountain setting.
