From the end of Linhart Square, the view opens over the Sava valley toward the Julian Alps.
Estimated journey times
Begin on Linhart Square, a compact historic street on a promontory above the Sava. Its houses date mainly from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries, and the viewpoint at the square’s end opens across the river valley toward the Julian Alps. The former defensive moat survives in part as a tunnel, a reminder of the town wall built around the old centre. St Peter’s Church and its surrounding walls add a Gothic landmark to the walk.
Radovljica Manor houses the Museum of Apiculture, where exhibits explain the Carniolan grey bee, historic beekeeping tools and painted beehive panels. The neighbouring municipal museum focuses on local history and writer Anton Tomaž Linhart, after whom the square is named. Together, the manor and square give a concise introduction to Slovenian cultural traditions.
