Housed in a former Capuchin monastery, Krško City Museum tells the story of the Sava valley.
The compact centre follows the Sava, with historic houses below Krško Castle. The Krško City Museum, housed in the Kapucinski samostan (Capuchin Monastery), presents local history and notable residents including writer Valvasor and poet Josipina Hočevar.
The nearby Krško Nuclear Power Plant is Slovenia’s only nuclear station. Its information centre is located in the town’s Krško Culture House; plant tours require advance arrangement. The setting along the Sava connects contemporary energy infrastructure with the valley’s older river-trade history.
