Follow the paths by Kleptuza’s two lakes, fed by a cold karst spring in the Chepino quarter.
Estimated journey times
The Kleptuza karst spring emerges in the Chepino quarter on the slope above the Chepinska River. Its cold water flows through a waterfall into two lakes, framed by park paths and woodland. This landscape offers a fresh contrast with the town’s thermal springs and mineral-water history.
The wider setting is the Chepino Valley, ringed by the western Rhodope Mountains. The municipality’s historical museum presents local archaeology and traditions, including painted Easter eggs from the region. Use the lakeside and valley setting to understand how water, mountain terrain and settlement meet in this part of the Rhodopes.
