Step into St Teresa’s Church for its late-Baroque interior, then pause by the Three Graces Fountain in the park.
The old centre grew in the eighteenth century, when St Teresa of Ávila Church became its focal point. Construction began in 1754 and finished in 1765; the single-nave church is known for its distinctive pyramidal tower. Nearby, the former Main Guardhouse has open semicircular arcades at ground level, a feature locally called “bolte.” The streets around the square retain a late-Baroque character.
The central City Park began with a formal French-inspired layout and was later reshaped in the style of an English landscape garden. Its network of paths leads to the Three Graces Fountain, a 1978 sculpture by Vinko Fabris. Nearby, the late nineteenth-century Nova Gradiška Grammar School adds a different architectural note. Together, park, church and civic buildings form an easy walking circuit through the historic core.
