Walk the Paseo de los Tristes beside the Darro with the Alhambra’s walls above.
Alhambra and the Darro valley
The Alhambra crowns the Sabika hill with Nasrid palaces, courtyards and the Generalife gardens; across the valley, the Albaicín’s white lanes rise toward the Mirador de San Nicolás. Walk the Paseo de los Tristes beside the Darro to read the old city’s layered skyline, where fortress walls meet Sierra Nevada views.
Albaicín and Sacromonte
In the Albaicín, the Palacio de Dar al-Horra preserves a Nasrid residence above the historic quarter. Further east, Sacromonte Abbey stands among hillside caves and flamenco heritage. Granada’s Cathedral and Capilla Real add the Christian-era centre, making the city’s architecture a record of successive cultures.
