Vřídlo bursts skyward inside Vřídelní Colonnade, and the arcades along the Teplá invite a leisurely stroll.
Springs and colonnades
The spa centre follows the Teplá River beneath ornate arcades. At the modern Vřídelní Colonnade, the Vřídlo spring rises as a geyser; the Mill Colonnade shelters several mineral springs beneath a long Neo-Renaissance roof. Their contrasting architecture maps the city’s spa culture along a short riverside walk.
Hills above the spa
A funicular climbs to Diana Tower, whose lookout stands above forest paths. From there, trails descend toward the spa quarter and the Grandhotel Pupp, a landmark of the riverfront. The town’s wooded slopes and mineral-water buildings together explain why Karlovy Vary developed as a European spa destination.
