The Sonnenbergbahn, a 1902 funicular, climbs from Kriens to the wooded Sonnenberg. Its preserved timber stations and original carriage frames document Swiss mountain-rail engineering. In town, Museum im Bellpark explores local history and the region’s changing landscape.
Kriens is also a starting point for the gondola and cableway toward Mount Pilatus. The ascent crosses forest and alpine terrain before reaching the high limestone massif above Lake Lucerne, linking a settled valley town to a dramatic mountain environment.
