At the Norwegian Aviation Museum, civilian and military aircraft bring Norway’s flight history down to earth.
Museums and medieval church
The Norwegian Aviation Museum places civilian and military aircraft in a broad account of Norwegian flight history. At Bodin Church, a stone church dating from the Middle Ages, look for the layered building history and furnishings that connect the port region to older parish life.
Coast and current
About 33 kilometres from the centre, Saltstraumen narrows the sea between Saltfjord and Skjerstadfjord; strong tidal flows shape its famous maelstrom. The small Saltstraumen Museum covers ancient settlement, local boats and Viking history, adding human stories to the coastal landscape.
