An ornate clock tower in Oginskis Palace park once served as an orangery and gardener’s home.
The neo-Renaissance Oginskis Palace was built between 1873 and 1886 for Duke Mykolas Oginskis. Since 1994 it has housed the Žemaičiai Art Museum, whose collections and exhibitions explore the history and artistic traditions of Samogitia. The palace grounds preserve the scale of a former aristocratic estate.
The surrounding park includes an unusual clock-tower orangery, used historically as both a gardener’s residence and greenhouse. Its mechanism dates to 1741. A monumental entrance gate and park paths connect the palace with other surviving estate buildings.
