Exotic plants and a central pool fill the glass-roofed Winter Garden at the Tiškevičiai manor.
Tiškevičiai Manor and Winter Garden
The Kretinga Museum occupies the former manor of the Tiškevičiai family. Its glass-roofed Winter Garden, established after Count Juozapas Tiškevičius acquired the estate in 1875, became a large private conservatory with exotic plants and a central water feature. The museum connects the estate to the region’s social history.
Franciscan heritage
Nearby, the Franciscan monastery and the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary form a religious ensemble with roots in Kretinga’s early modern history. Manor and monastery give the town a distinctive mix of aristocratic and spiritual architecture.
