Station and cathedral

The Gare des Bénédictins is an Art Deco landmark raised above its railway tracks, crowned by a dome and campanile. In the historic Cité quarter, Saint-Étienne Cathedral took more than six centuries to complete and overlooks the Vienne valley. Nearby gardens and the old episcopal precinct create a quieter contrast.

Porcelain heritage

At the Musée national Adrien Dubouché, galleries explain the city’s porcelain tradition through objects, materials and production. The Four des Casseaux, a preserved industrial kiln, shows the scale of firing porcelain. Walk the Quartier de la Boucherie for timber-framed streets and a link to the old craft districts.
